What Artifacts Are

Artifacts are equipable gear pieces that fill four dedicated equipment slots on your character. Each piece grants passive stat bonuses — damage, defense, crit, or utility depending on the set. Equipping multiple pieces from the same set often triggers set bonuses that outperform mixed pieces of higher individual rarity. The artifact system unlocks during mid-game progression on Scorched Ruins, making artifacts one of the first major power spikes after Haki and before Legend's Arena boss farming.

If you arrive at end-game specs without four artifact slots filled, you compete at a measurable disadvantage in boss DPS checks and portal timed waves. Treat artifact farming as mandatory, not optional, once the Artifact NPC becomes available.

How to Unlock Artifacts

Travel to Scorched Ruins (recommended levels ~800–1200) and locate the Artifact NPC. Interacting unlocks the artifact menu where you equip, unequip, and compare pieces. The same island provides the Portal Key quest chain needed for trial portal access — the primary repeatable artifact farm. Sun Jin Woo Daggers vendors and related NPCs share the island, so plan combined trips for weapon upgrades and artifact unlocks in one session.

Four Equipment Slots Explained

The artifact UI exposes exactly four slots. Think of them like armor pieces in other Roblox anime games — each slot accepts one artifact, and empty slots waste passive stats. Mid-game goals target a two-piece or four-piece set bonus before chasing perfect rolls on individual stats.

Swap artifacts freely at the menu near the Artifact NPC. No reroll currency is required to equip — only farming cost is obtaining pieces. Keep backup sets for mob farming (survivability) versus boss burning (raw damage) if your inventory allows.

Trial Portals — Main Farm Method

Trial portals are repeatable instances keyed by Portal Keys crafted on Scorched Ruins. Difficulty tiers range from easy to extreme; higher difficulties improve drop quality at the cost of survivability. Community shortcuts for key farming include taking intentional deaths on wave 2–3 bosses after dealing required damage for other quests — verify current patch behavior before relying on shortcuts.

Two distinct artifact sets circulate in June 2026 portal pools — check Trello artifact cards for set names and bonus thresholds. Run portals in parties when possible: shared clears speed key consumption and revive support matters on extreme runs. Artifacts also drop from select mobs and bosses (Sun Jin Woo, Saber) at lower rates, but portals remain the consistent farm path.

Build Integration

Artifacts multiply output from weapons, outfits, and specs simultaneously. A Gilgamesh player with Gilgamesh's Outfit and a four-piece artifact set sees compounded gains on Gate-style AoE. Evaluating Artifact Rolls

Not every artifact piece warrants immediate equip. Compare primary stat lines against your build — strength percentages for Gilgamesh and Sukuna, weapon damage for dagger and sword setups, defense or HP for portal survivability runs. Set bonuses usually trump a single high roll on a mismatched piece unless the stat gap exceeds roughly one tier of weapon upgrade. Keep a farming set with extra defense for extreme portal waves and a bossing set with maximum damage percent once four matching pieces are available.

Artifact power scales silently with level and spec unlocks — re-run Monument Isle dummies after each spec milestone because passive percentages multiply on bigger base damage numbers.
